Couch Slip Covers for Every Home

Back in the day, couch slip covers used to be unfit for the couches of households. It looks like a fabric just hanging down the couches. This is because back in the day, sofa slip covers were simply cloths that are not even fitted for the couches.

It has crumples, wrinkles, folds, drapes and all those ugly unnecessary things that you do not want to see in your couch. Sure, you would want your couch to be clean but you want it to look presentable too. Plus, you also want your couch to be clean. But how on earth will you be able to do that if your couch slip covers do not fit well?

The good thing though is that nowadays, these covers are perfectly fitted to your couches. The material that is used for the slip covers are now stretchable. So it can fit whatever size or style your couch has. If you are thinking about the armrests and the other parts of your couch, you do not have to worry. Nowadays, there are sectional slipcovers that are provided to be able to cover these parts of your couch.

Another good thing about these seat covers is that they are approximately only $200. This price beats the price of a whole sofa set. Plus, since these slip covers vary in styles, colors and designs, you can buy as many as you can. In this way, your sofa will look like a new one each time you change the covers. It does not necessarily matter if your real sofa is a little busted already inside because the outsides will seem perfectly fine because of the covers.

If the $200 budget does not even fit your budget, there are actually other ways to get cheap slipcovers. One, you can wait for sale season in your favorite stores. Usually, the stores carry out seasonal sales which mean that they get rid of the old designs and styles of slip covers for a lesser price.

You can ask the sales agent when this time will come. Second, you can also check out garage sales in your neighborhood. Your neighbors might be moving out or refurnishing their homes so they might be selling old slip covers. You do not have to worry about it being dirty and old because as long as you can laundry it and it does not have stains, it can still be good as new. Third, you can try online auction sites. They might be auctioning of some new or second hand covers.

Another option would be to buy your fabrics from any fabric store and have your own custom slipcovers. If you know how to sew, you can do it on your own. However, if you do not know how to sew, you can always look for tailors who can make you your own covers. Tailors will even help you out in personalizing the look of your slipcovers according to your preferred design and color.

Sheepskin Car Covers - What Are the Cheapest Seat Car Covers

So you are looking for some Sheepskin Seat Covers for your new or used vehicle. You already know that using seat covers will do many positive things for your specific vehicle. Here is a list of just a few positive things you can count on. Seat sheepskin covers will do the following for your vehicle.

  • Lengthens the life of your seats

  • Helps your vehicle keep its value when its comes time to sell or trade in.

  • Gives you piece of mind when it comes to something getting spilled on your seats.

When you start looking at Sheepskin leather for your new seat covers, you will most likely run into some terms that will more than likely confuse you more than anything. Here are some of these terms and what they mean. Remember these definitions are used a little different depending on the dealer, but overall these will be correct.

1. Ready Made - These covers are pre made covers that will fit a lot of makes and models of cars. These do not need to be mixed up with the covers sold in the department stores. Ready made sheepskin covers sold through most dealers are actually made to fit the way they are supposed to.

2. Tailor Made - Tailor Made seat covers are especially made to the exact dimensions of your vehicle. Vehicles that have seat belts made into the seats will have to have tailor made seat covers. Many cars have seats that have odd dimensions and shapes that no ready or pre made covers will fit. SO they have to be tailor made.

3. Double Cap - Double cap sheepskin covers are all sheepskin. This means they have sheepskin on the front, bottom, sides as well as the back of the seats. These are the most expensive and the hardest to install because they do not stretch a whole lot.

4. All Sheepskin - These are the exact same thing as a Double Cap. Its just a more simple term and makes more sense to someone that doesn't know anything about sheepskin covers.

5. Super Fit - Super Fit covers basically have Sheepskin on the front & bottom of the seat where your butt and back rest. They usually have a stretchable acrylic material that has a matching fleece that normally matches the color of the sheepskin very closely on the sides and back of the seat. These are easier to install because of the stretchiness of the acrylic.

6. Deluxe Super Fit - These are super fit covers that are made with the best quality sheepskin offered. These covers are the most expensive ready made covers because of the quality of sheepskin used.

7. Mosaic - Mosaic usually means a pattern of different colors, but most of the time with Sheepskin it just means the seats are made in a pattern of small diamonds or squares. They are normally the same color. Mosaic is actually made up of a lot of small left over pieces instead of one big piece of sheepskin.

8. Mosaic Super fit - These are covers made in a mosaic pattern that has the acrylic on the sides and back of the seats. Mosaic covers are usually cheaper because the pieces used are made up of smaller pieces that can't be used on anything else.

9. Tailor Made Mosaic - These are tailor made covers that are made from the smaller pieces in a diamond or square pattern. Since these are tailor made they are usually all sheepskin or double cap. Sheepskin on front, bottom, back & sides. This is something one company may do differently than another so it is wise to ask if they are all sheepskin or super fit.

10. Standard - Standard usually has a shorter fleece than the other options available. The standard sheepskin is considered a lower quality because of the shorter fleece. My personal opinion is they are of the same quality its just that the fleece is shorter & many people actually prefer the shorter fleece.

Now that you know what these terms mean. It's time to put it all together so you can get the most for your money. Sheepskin is a very durable leather and the fleece has some amazing properties. Sheepskin is warm in the winter and is cool in the summer. What ever decision you make when picking out what kind of sheepskin covers to purchase for your vehicle will not be a bad one. Here is a list of things you need to do before ordering your Sheepskin Seat Covers from any dealer.

  • Decide what kind of density of sheepskin fleece you want. Remember Deluxe means best or thickest fleece. Mosaic is the same thickness but made up of smaller pieces. Standard has a shorter fleece than the others. Deluxe is most expensive - Standard is in the middle & Mosaic is usually the cheapest.

  • Decide if you want to have all sheepskin or super fit. Do you have to have sheepskin on the sides and back of the seats? It will save you a lot of money if you choose the super fit.

  • Find out if you need tailor made covers? Don't let any dealer fool you into getting tailor made covers. Make sure you ask why do you have to have tailor made? If you have integrated seat belts into your seats or built in armrest you will always have to have tailor made. If you have odd shaped seats or really thick seats then you may have to have them tailor made also.

In my opinion if you want the best price go with the Mosaic super fit. Even if they have to tailor make them it will still be affordable. On the plus side the mosaic has a pattern that usually looks really nice & remember the mosaic is made up of the best quality sheepskin. These are my personal favorite for quality and price (mosaics are actually just the left over pieces). If you would like a shorter fleece then definitely go with the standard super fit, If they can fit your vehicle with it.

Most of the time you can't get a bench seat done with the standard, but if it bucket seats then there shouldn't be a problem. Of course if price isn't a option then go with the all sheepskin seats. These are the best of the best. These are good for show cars where this may count towards more points for your show car. Some people just feel better knowing there sheepskin seats are all sheepskin, but I will not tell you they are my first choice. Because I'm cost conscious and like the most for my money.

Woolen Wheelchair Seat Covers

Wheelchair seat covers play a very important role in providing comfort to an injured or handicapped person. And for the user, a Merino wool cushion for the wheelchair gives comfort among other materials that can be used. It aids in keeping the patient warm during cold temperatures. armrest covers also provide soft comfort to the patient and the luxurious Merino wool cover gives a very soft surface.

Wheelchair seat covers serve as a preventive measure for "bed sores" that does not really come from the bed but from chaffing of the patient's skin against the bed or the chair's surface. Since the patient is not moving, the blood flow to the skin is very slow causing skin lesions.

Wool is the top choice for most wheelchair seat covers because of its soft feel and insulating capabilities. The outer part of the fabric drives back water and the inner part absorbs the moisture. Wool has high absorption properties that can retain great amount of moisture keeping the seat cover warm for the patient.

There are a few types of wool sources that make good wheelchair seat covers. Alpacas and Llamas provide good, strong wools. They are actually softer and lighter than sheep's wool. These wools are actually cultured in environments free from pesticides. They are not dyed or bleached and they do not contain grease or lanolin.

In cleaning the wool, you can use a wool wash solution that has Lanolin to improve the gleam of the wool. Most wool wash solutions are made from Tea Tree Oil that is known to be very effective against dust mites, cause of allergies, fungi and bacteria. It is also good for preventing skin irritations because of its gentle properties.

The only disadvantage of using wool as wheelchair seat covers is that insects like a moth larva and carpet beetle tend to eat them. Because wool contains protein, a moth larva, not adult moths, may eat wheelchair seat covers made of the material creating huge holes.

For taking care of woolen wheelchair seat covers, it is advisable to clean the fabric extensively using insect deterrents and then store it in hand-woven baskets. Ideally, wheelchair seat covers should be kept inside cotton bags and then sealed to allow the wool fabric to breathe. Plastic bags are not recommended because they can contain moisture that will eventually lead to molds and mildew.

Wool is the perfect fabric to use as wheelchair seat covers. However, proper knowledge on how to care of them is needed to retain their quality.

Sectional Slip Covers

Sofas that are divided into various sections are called as sectional sofas. They are upholstered to give the look of a single sofa. It is generally difficult to find slip covers for these. However, there are many branded companies in the fray producing sectional slip covers.

Slip covers for sectional sofas are manufactured in pieces to fit the various parts. Some sectional sofas do not have armrests and need slipcovers that do not have section for arms.

Certain manufacturers create sectional slip covers that have distinct features to fit standard sectional sofas. Some of them may have Scotchguard protector, which makes spills literally roll off and helps to keep the fabric cleaner for a longer duration. Fabric used to make such slip covers are generally wrinkle-resistant that avoid bunching. Such fabric is made with polyester fiber that is treated and provides Scotchgard protection.

Many manufacturers have unique design features that are patented by them. They feature slipcovers for attachable arms that can fit all three types of sectional forms including reclining sectionals. Such sectional slipcovers can be used on both, two as well as three seat designs. Arm covers are part of the package for slipcovers. Slip covers for right arm and left arm are specifically marked for sectional sofas for easy identification. The wedge in sectional sofa is generally let free. These sectional slipcovers are always sold in sets.

Manufacturers are generally found to use fabric such as twills and denims which are rugged and last longer for sectional sofas. Most fabrics used for slipcovers are 100% cotton. They are easier to maintain and are machine washable that can be dried on a clothesline. Pillows may have slipcovers that can be cleaned with a damp cloth. The two or three seat sectional sofas may have covers that have tailored arms as also a layered skirt.

Kitchen Dining Tables And Chair Covers

There are a number of different types of kitchen table sets that can be used in a kitchen. The standard wood sets are created to work well in themed settings such as country kitchens, as well as in basic designs. Wood is a popular material for making these sets because it is so versatile. The wood can be left in its natural color or it can be stained or painted to match the decor of your kitchen. Some tables are made to be extended or expanded by the use of additional leaves. The leaf section can be easily placed between the two standard sections of a table when it is pulled apart.

The table and chairs you select can also come made of metal. The cafe style of chair is sometimes used with the round metal tables to create a charming effect in the room. These chairs may come with padding used on the seat to provide cushioning or you may need to purchase separate chair covers to use on them. A kitchen table and chairs can also be found in some formal designs where the chairs have a full extended back section. This higher back can be good when using fabric chair covers to create a design for a special occasion.

When browsing kitchen dining tables and chairs you will see some styles of chairs created specifically for use with the new island counters. These are made as stools and can be found using full sized chairs for placement on the stools base section. If you have a captain's style for your set you can select a matching type of counter stool chair to coordinate with your table set. The captain's style of chair is constructed from wood and has a wide back that may or may not include arms.

Most chairs created for use with kitchen tables do not come with armrests. This allows for additional room around the table and gives people free use of their arms and hands. Tables that are rectangular may use a chair with armrests at the two ends of the table where there is more room to have them placed.
